As part of carrying out the baseline survey of the project “Digital Technologies for Health Financing: Introducing openIMIS to Improve Population outcomes of the Chèque Santé Program in Cameroon” M.A. SANTÉ is looking for 3 field supervisors, 7 data collection monitors and 21 investigators.

« Digital Technologies for Health Financing: Introducing openIMIS to Improve Population outcomes of the Chèque Santé Program in Cameroon »  est un projet mis en œuvre au Cameroun dans les régions de l’Extrême Nord (Maroua), du Nord (Garoua) et de l’Adamaoua (Ngaoundere) par M.A. SANTE (Meilleur Acces Aux Soins de Santé) en collaboration avec Heidelberg Institute of Global Health sous le financement de Deutsches Evaluierungsinstitut der Entwicklungszusammenarbeit (DEval) avec pour objectif d’évaluer le bénefice de la digitalisation (utilisation du logiciel open IMIS) du programme chèque santé sur les performances des formations sanitaires, sur l’offre de service aux femmes (par exemple, la proportion de femmes inscrites qui reçoivent des soins maternels répondant aux normes de qualité souhaitées) et sur la protection financière (par exemple, la proportion de femmes inscrites qui reçoivent des services de soins maternels pour lesquels elles sont éligibles sans frais).

M.A. SANTÉ [Meilleur Accès aux Soins de Santé] est une ONG camerounaise basée à Yaoundé. Elle a été créée depuis 2006 avec pour objectif de contribuer à l’amélioration de l’accès aux soins de santé au Cameroun à travers la recherche, la formation et la mise en œuvre des interventions sanitaires. Ses activités sont organisées à partir de son siège social à Yaoundé et de ses sites décentralisés basés à l’hôpital régional annexe de Kousseri (Extrême-Nord, Cameroun), au CMA de Congo I (Douala, Cameroun), au district de santé de Mogodé (Extrême-Nord, Cameroun) et au district de santé de Foumban (Ouest, Cameroun).

PLACE OF WORK

Les enquêtes se dérouleront dans les 3 régions septentrionales du Cameroun à savoir : l’Extrême Nord, le Nord et l’Adamaoua.

  1. FIELD SUPERVISORS

The field supervisor will be responsible for supervising data collection activities in the region for which he will be responsible and his main tasks will be to:

  • Participate in training on quantitative data collection tools/methods
  • Obtain administrative agreements from the heads of health facilities and traditional authorities of the villages that will be selected in the region in charge
  • Introduce each team to the health facilities and villages that will be selected in their region
  • Ensure compliance of the data collection process in the region in charge
  • Regularly check the quality of the data that will be produced by the teams present in the region in charge before submission to the online server
  • Monitor the discipline and attendance of members of the investigation team
  • Collect data from targets using tablets
  • Attend debriefing meetings
  • Report to the person responsible for monitoring and evaluation of the project as well as his hierarchy
  • Ensure the availability and proper functioning of the equipment necessary for data collection in the region in charge
  • Develop a final data collection report

THE ELIGIBILITY FOR THE POSITION OF FIELD SUPERVISOR ARE AS FOLLOWS :

  • Hold a Master’s degree in Public Health and Epidemiology, demography, statistics
  • Have proven experience in field supervision in quantitative surveys
  • Being able to express oneself in French and English, expression in Arabic and Fulfulde would be an asset
  • Have proven experience in monitoring hospital and community-based data collection
  • Have a good command of community activities
  • Have proven experience in monitoring data quality
  • Have knowledge of one of the target regions of the study
  • Be available for an investigation from October 15 to December 15
  • Mastering data collection tools will be an asset (KOBO collect, ODK collect)
  1. DATA COLLECTION MONITOR

The Data Collection Monitor will be responsible for supervising the collection activities of the team he is responsible for and his main tasks will be to:

  • Participate in training on quantitative data collection tools/methods
  • Ensure compliance of the data collection process within your team
  • Regularly check the quality of the data that will be produced by your team
  • Collect data from targets using tablets
  • Attend debriefing meetings
  • Report to the person responsible for monitoring and evaluation of the project as well as his hierarchy
  • Ensure the availability and proper functioning of your team’s equipment
  • Develop a final data collection report
  • Transmit the collected data to the data server

THE ELIGIBILITY CONDITIONS FOR THE POSITION OF DATA COLLECTION MONITOR ARE AS FOLLOWS:

  • Hold a degree in Biomedical Sciences, demography, statistics
  • Have proven experience in monitoring hospital and community-based data collection
  • Being able to express oneself in French and English, expression in Arabic and Fulfulde would be an asset
  • Have proven experience in monitoring data quality
  • Have a good command of community activities
  • Have knowledge of one of the target regions of the study
  • Be available for an investigation from October 15 to December 15
  • Mastering data collection tools will be an asset (KOBO collect, ODK collect)
  1. INVESTIGATORS : :

Les enquêteurs seront chargés de :

  • Participate in training on quantitative data collection tools/methods
  • Interview targets using the language they are most comfortable with
  • Collect data from targets using tablets
  • Collect data in health facility registers
  • Regularly check data quality after each interview
  • Attend debriefing meetings
  • Report to your supervisor as well as your hierarchy
  • Develop a final data collection report

THE ELIGIBILITY CONDITIONS ARE AS FOLLOWS :

  • Hold a Baccalaureate, demography, statistics
  • Have proven experience in hospital and community based data collection
  • Being able to express oneself in French and English, expression in Arabic and Fulfulde would be an asset
  • Have a good command of community activities
  • Have knowledge of one of the target regions of the study
  • Be available for an investigation from October 15 to December 15
  • Mastering data collection tools will be an asset (KOBO collect, ODK collect)

Composition of file :

The application file written in French or English will include

  • A curriculum vitae of no more than two pages ;

  • Copies of the highest diploma;
  • All documents attesting to experience in the field
